I looked around I was in the centre of a circle of trees, it was dark and gloomy, mist filled the ring of trees, my anxiety decided to go through the roof at that very moment and I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach, like something bad was gonna happen. Birds stopped singing and instead it was completely quiet, all I could hear was my own breath and the sound of the the wind blowing through the trees, almost like the trees were whispering to each other. I was cold as a result of the wet dirt covering my skin. The mist had settled on the forest floor, I was standing shin deep in mist, and the only way I can describe the smell is, cold and wet. I stood ther in complete and utter silence. I hear a twig snap and my anxiety spikes, what on earth was that I think to myself, I turn around and see nothing, I turn around again, I still see nothing.. I turned around once more and I scream.

"This is a nightmare, it's only a nightmare..." I say to myself as I try to catch my breath while leaning against a tall pine tree. Only for a moment do I stay in that position until I hear a twig snap. I quickly leap away from the tree and run as fast as I can. "Wake up (Y/N)! just wake up!!!" I think to myself. "You are awake my dear..." I hear that voice. That damn voice. "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!" I scream. I continue to run past trees and hopping over large rocks. The mist in the air begins to get thicker as I continue this race. "Why me? out of all the people this had to happen to me!" my brain races with thoughts until my foot gets caught by a tree root sticking out of the ground. I fall hitting my head on a rock. My vision is blurry and I can feel a warm liquid begin to stream down my face. "My dear (Y/N), look what you have done to yourself. You shouldn't have tried to run away." the voice goes through my head again. I look around and see nothing but trees. "LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" My voice begins to grow sore from the constant running and yelling. The sound of leaves crunching comes from behind me and I whip my head around until my eyes are met with him. "My dear (Y/N), you've made quite the mess of yourself. You know you are not aloud to leave......now you'll have to be punished." The figure says without any facial expression or motion. The figure begins to walk forward towards me. I try to back away until my vision becomes black and all I can hear is static.

As a runt, Jade didn't think she'd ever find a pack willing to accept her, even though she has gained an impressive set of skills while surviving in No Man's land. A chance encounter provides the opportunity to prove her worth, but when she arrives, against all odds, she picks up an irresistible scent. Her soulmate. Standing at a crossroads, she must decide if she's willing to grasp at her chance of unconditional love-and risk the heart-rending pain of rejection. As a runt, the odds are not in her favor. -------- On a side note: None of the main characters are mated to an Alpha. No character has 'exclusive' abilities or powers. ----- Excerpt: My steps faltered as I noticed that two of the pursuing wolves had sped ahead and were waiting to intercept me. I launched toward a tree and ricocheted off at a ninety-degree angle without slowing down. One of the wolves behind quickly followed and began closing in. I started to panic, looking around frantically for a way to escape. I saw a rabbit burrow under a small bramble bush and desperately raced towards it. I darted under the edge of the plant and heard the tan wolf go around as he expected me to come out the other side. It gave me the precious seconds I needed to squeeze down the tunnel. My relief was short-lived - the rabbit that dug this burrow had not survived long enough to finish it. The tunnel was only about twice as long as the average human arm, and I could clearly see the entrance. I sent a silent prayer that the bramble bush would deter them and that they would not realize just how shallow this burrow was. I waited anxiously. I was practically rejecting him for reasons unknown to him, and for an Alpha, he'd never accept this. "Why can't you?! Since when have I ever done something to prove I didn't care about you just now?!" I looked down in shame. Sarah was keeping a fierce stance, though. She knew that we had to save our rogue friends, and that we weren't really rejecting Ty. If we wanted to really reject him, we would've done so already. I think he kind of knew it too, but he was mad nonetheless. "Look Ty, I'm sorry I can't tell you. But I really can't be here right now. Maybe someday this will work. But I'm not selfish enough to give up something I care for." ... Alicia Gray, the daughter of one of the highest ranking members in the Blood Moon Pack, was set up to be a brat. Spoiled rotten from the start, she couldn't change the path she was headed on. When her pack is attacked by rogues, however, her life turns around. She becomes the person she has always strived to be - the complete opposite of a brat. After successfully escaping the clutches of her captors, she finally is able to return home.
