Six months ago Ava Black's entire world came to a crashing halt. Once the most popular cheerleader of her high school, she now watches from the back of the room as her friends move on with their lives. Her health has been taking a steady decline with frequent migraines and episodes of sleep paralysis. The doctors say it's normal and anytime she says anything they only prescribe her more medication.
Ava feels like her world is being swallowed by a black hole and each day she's losing more of who she is, who she was. The pain, the nightmares, and the constant bullying from her former friends are pushing her further into depression.
Then she meets Kira. Kira is everything that Ava used to be: popular, beautiful, and desired. Everyone loves Kira, but the young transfer student could care less. Popularity means little to her. All Kira wants is a friend, a true friend, and that's what she finds in Ava.
The two girls are inseparable, clinging to each other in a way that most can't understand. They are there for each other when no one else will be. Kira is strong and Ava is willful. They are meant to be best friends.
So, why is Gabriel Matthews, the boy that Ava never thought noticed her, suddenly taking an interest in their friendship? Why does he glare at them whenever they pass by? Why is Gabriel following Ava? How does he know what she sees in her nightmares?

Don't open a scam email, or risk being trapped of what it put you in, and there's no way of escape... But how much would you go by saving a friend, just by clicking a mysterious link sent to you? - Gabriel was a normal kid about; lovable, kind, funny, but something happened to him a night. A scam email lured him into a trap and now everyone thinks it was a suicide the way his forehead was cut in a faded, straight line, him lying on his bed, no movement, and a knife that appeared randomly on the bedroom bed next to him when Mother came to wake him up for the morning. But after a month rolls around, Alison still thinks the whole situation was a bit odd; Gabe could and would never do that to himself. She would know, considering their friendship since fourth grade. It just didn't make sense to her. But then again, people are good at hiding feelings when you least expect it... She and Tiger make up a plan ---- them being the detectives --- to find out what exactly happened to their friend, but it all goes downhill when the plan... means them getting lured to their worst nightmares and fears, and in the same way Gabriel gets trapped in the mysterious Three Door Curse... And now they've got the detectives involved... But what if the villain also knows the victim's lie? - "A Nightmare On Elm Street"-type-like story... - WARNING: THIS STORY MENTIONS SUICIDE, INCLUDES VIOLENCE, AND SOMEWHAT PROFANITY AND GRAPHIC SCENES/GORE! Hope Flynn used to love water. She never realized the power of water, or the strength of it until the accident. Now Hope knows just how dangerous water can be. Water is the reason her sister is dead, and the reason she almost died. Hope can't remember what happened the night of the tragedy, but everyone assures her she couldn't have done anything to save her sister. Juliet Price has attended Redwood High since the beginning of sophomore year, but she's never spoken to Hope, Juliet doesn't fit in with her classmates as she wasn't born rich and she didn't grow up getting everything she wanted. The only reason Juliet is at the exclusive private school is because she's living with her wealthy aunt and uncle. Juliet knows what happened to Eleanor Flynn, most of the world does. The Flynn family are very wealthy and very famous. Even though Juliet and Hope have never spoken, Juliet can tell that Hope is acting weird and she doesn't think it's entirely because Eleanor is dead. When Juliet and Hope are brought together through a class project, Juliet starts to realize that Hope won't be able to start moving on unless she finds out what happened the night her sister died, and why she can't remember it. When the two start investigating, they realize that the truth is pointing to something dark. Almost everyone attending Redwood has secrets, and they'll do what it takes to keep them private. When the truth starts to come out, Hope is left to wonder if she remembers the dreadful night and finds out she had something to do with it, will she ever forgive herself?

You know her name. You know her story. You know her secret. She isn't like any other girl, not anymore. Jared Walker complicated everything; he told her his secret, stole her heart and showed her a whole new world. She knew then that she'd never be the same again. Ava Delaney is no longer human - she doesn't know what she is. She should probably figure it out. But there is much more important stuff that she needs to learn first: how to keep her new secret, how to fight and most importantly... how to survive a war that's older than time. She's not like any other girl, not anymore. * Please note that this is only a five chapter sample of the published book.
