Laila has known Hunter for all of her life and she loves him, but in a platonic way. She starts to feel something more towards him and at the same time, Vincent moves into their town and Laila's life. Laila starts to spend more time with Vincent and as she does, her life starts to spiral out of control. Laila tries to talk to Hunter about it but he won't speak to her anymore because he believes that Laila had chosen Vincent over him, someone she had known all of her life. She struggles to find the calm in the storm and as her life goes on like this, she starts to realize there is more than one perspective to the world. She then, with fresh eyes on life, picks up the ties she once had with both boys in attempt to mend what was once there. As she does so, she begins to fall in love with one of them more than the other. She becomes even more confused than before and feels as though her life has been torn apart as both boys fight for her affection again. While all of this is happening, she feels virtually her whole world watching her every move and choice. In the end she has to decide between who she thinks is right for her and who everyone else believes she belongs with.
