Everlasting Sorrows

His eyes.
Green.
Much like the needles of a pine tree.
The everlasting shade of green that does not disappear with the changes surrounding it.
It stays.
Never fading.
Watching everything around it alter into something different, something new.
Everything from the bold reds and bright oranges to the dull browns and the pale yellows.
Eventually though, the changing colors disintegrate into nothing.
It's left alone and yet it remains.
Never fading.
Watching as everything around it turns into something new.
Something better.
