"Why can't you be normal?" says almost everyone to eleven year old boy genius Norman Albert. Norman is a brilliant student at Callahan Elementary school, although he is at a university graduate IQ level. He has always gotten perfect on science, and math tests which would be made specifically harder for him only. He lives in Leiper's Fork but is hoping to travel to Calgary for an inventors competition although, his legal guardians aren't willing to take him. Norman, being who he is replies "Why can't you be more like me?"

We're about 4 years apart, he's only 10 years old and still the smartest person I know. I'm 14 years old, and starting my first year of high school. And may I just say, what a great way to start the year off by first having all the parents be abducted by aliens. Compared to the rest of our family it makes me feel stupid, but then compare me to our parents and my IQ goes from stupid to at least average. Our mom is pretty smart, my dad isn't that smart, and sounds like he really only cares about ducks. People make fun of him for being so smart, but I love him, most days anyways. He's my best friend and he says I'm the coolest big sister he's ever had, to be clear I'm the only sister he's ever had. He has one of those space HQs one of those bigger on the inside tiny on the outside, and invents all and everything. Including our dog, I'm allergic to anything that sheds, but have always wanted a pet, so he made me one himself. I just wish he'd ask me first before he tests his experiments on me.
