Twelve-year-old Alice Edgley didn't expect a babysitting trip to turn her life around completely. When sorcerers Ratchet Conceit and Cascadia Novella show up at her door, Alice is dragged into an adventure she never expected: the deceased returning to life. Things at first seem fine, though the spell eventually influences an executed master criminal by the name of Drake Rouge who wants nothing more than revenge on Alice and her friends for unknown reasons.
