When Elliot James receieved a call from his best friend's mom, saying that he committed suicide, Elliot broke down. He lapsed into weeks of hardship, depression, and carelessness.
A couple weeks later, when things were starting to settle down, Elliot got a voice recording from his best friend's phone number. It was a whole minute of horrible signal; his best friend's sobs and pleads to the someone recording, an agonizing couple of seconds of a scream fading away, and a voice whispering at the end, "Things don't seem like what they are, do they?"
Elliot was unwillingly sucked into a world where everyone seemed suspicious, where everyone seems to be hiding something. And with daily voice recordings sent like this everyday, it was up to him to figure this mystery out. Except, he had no clue who the person was, and what they want from him.
Elliot would have never guessed what was coming his way. What secrets were hidden underneath the surface.
The world turns everyday and for James his life couldn't be any worse than it is. After witnessing his father's brutal murder he is kidnapped and forced to stay with the people who he wishes would drop dead. What James doesn't know is that there is more to them than only being kidnappers, they are great at gaslighting people... What will James ever do to escape this fate.
"You're gonna submit to us, weather you like it or not! We won't take no for an answer!"
