Everything has the ability to change, somethings more so than others. Maxene Williams always thought change was inevitable, never to be escaped. It was destiny, prewritten, and only the power of some mightier power could afflict a different outcome. Yet she didn't know how much it could through off the track of her life.
After coming face to face with the biggest icon of Ridgmond high school, punching his best friend in the face, and reconnecting with old friends, Max realizes that maybe fate isn't set in stone. Nobody thought that the reckless prankster and the brown-eyed popular would ever become anything more than classmates, but boy were they dead wrong. And never in a million years did anyone think that there was more to Max than meets the eye.
Fate is a funny thing; it's constantly changing and updating the unpaved road of life. But fate has Max's life set on a collision course, barreling right into change.
Once upon a time...
That's how all the fairytales begin, right? There's a girl who's mistreated and misunderstood. She meets a guy--probably the most popular guy in school (and hey, why not make him British while we're at it?). He's most likely very handsome and just as rich, and magically seems to understand her. It feels like they've known each other forever when in fact they've actually just met. It's love at first sight, the guy saves the girl from whatever misery she's in, they meet only two or three problems along the way, and then it's happily ever after.
But this isn't a fairytale.
