Seventeen year old Grace Ryder and her twin brother Jack have had a difficult life. When they were eight, their father died, leaving them with a heartbroken mother and a music shop that was failing to bring in hardly any income. Desperate to escape the life they had, their mother suddenly decided that they're moving to Spain, where she was born, leaving their home and friends in California. She sells the shop and within two weeks of the funeral, they fly off to their new live abroad. Everything wasn't so simple after that though. Grace and Jack's mother went into a severe depression, neglecting both herself and her children. In order to go on, the twins had to learn how to fend for themselves and look after their mother. By the time they were ten, they had mastered the art of self-preservation. After an unexpected visit seven years later from an old family friend from California, Mrs Kennedy, who hasn't seen them since they moved, they were persuaded to put their mother in a mental hospital and move back to California. While they are extremely glad at this change of events, they can't help but feel that they let their mother down. Once in California, they move in with Mrs Kennedy and her husband and get this.........they have eight boys and only one daughter. All of whom they haven't seen in nearly ten years. Their life is about to take a turn for the better. Cue in pranks, new friends, bitchy jealous girlfriends, movie nights, possible love and lots of surprises. But when a part (more like a person) of their old life in Spain catches up with them, does it change everything again? And if it did......it would be for the worse.

(Unedited) "You weren't here! You haven't been in a long time so stop trying to act like you were." Willow grew up in a house with six brothers, one of them being her twin. She's grown up in a two bedroom apartment with an alcoholic mother who never managed to pay the bills on time or even buy food, so the eldest two brother's always took the responsibility, and once they left it was passed on to the next brother. But eventually all her big brother's had left without looking back and it was just her, her twin Wes and their mother whenever she was around. They got along just fine for the next two years, they somehow managed to get through the tough times together and they thought it would stay that way, the two of them against the world. Until their mother got pregnant and they had the responsibility of raising their baby sister at the age of 11. They pulled through and it was now the three of them against the world. They believe they can get through anything and they hope that's true when suddenly the brothers who disappeared years ago start to show up looking to mend their relationship with the twins who hold a deep hatred for their older brothers. Can they fix the broken relationship with the twins and build a new one with their new baby sister? Or is it too late? --- It's better than it sounds.
