It's so unfair that life one day is perfectly fine and then next it's chaos. You know there's nothing you could do about it, but a part of you still wants to try. That's how I felt when I found out my aunt was diagnosed with Cancer. It was as if everything around me started to fade away, and there was nothing left in this void called Earth.

Kathryn Laurent is a 21 year old college senior studying journalism. Her final assignment was to write a hard-hitting expose about something sentimental. But when her favorite aunt was diagnosed with Cancer, she was in panic. The first thing she thought about was finding a cure. She knows that it's impossible, but that doesn't stop her from trying. But little did she know that the cure she was searching for wasn't a thing, but a person.

And what if that person happened to have a son? A son that doesn't give a fuck about anything and anyone. This just makes the whole situation even more complicated. Not only does she have to travel with him to Chicago, but she also has to convince him to let his dad visit her aunt.

In a journey of self discovery, two strangers have to work together to achieve their goals. Kathryn learns a little more about her aunt's past and what it's like to fight for someone she loves. This story is about testing a girl's perseverance, handling different obstacles, and learning that life is more that a thing to take for granted.
