"I-I can't, I-I don't..." Tears sting my eyes as I desperately search for words. Keep it together, Gwen. You've got to. I stand up straighter and take a deep breath. "I don't love you, it was all fake." 
I can almost feel his throat tighten up, his body stiffen, his blood run cold. 
"Wait, it's not true!" I want to scream at him until my voice becomes hoarse, until I can't speak anymore.
The words that came out of my mouth felt like venom, like a knife to his back. "I'm sorry," My face hurts from holding in the tears and all I want to do is scream at him that this moment was all a trick, that I don't care.

But no matter what I did, I couldn't.
