Into Trembling Air

An X-Men Movies franchise fanfiction, including some TV series and comic book canon, and attempting to keep the timelines as straight as possible. Written before the release of Wolverine 2. I own none of the characters or the situations, and the only thing about this that is mine is the writing itself.

Kayla did not die during the events of Three Mile Island, and she and Logan attempt to build a life together in its aftermath. Several thousand miles away, a girl called Anna Marie is kicked out of her foster home when she comes in to her mutant power and puts her boyfriend in a coma. Five years after Logan lost his memories, and a year and a half after Rogue created her new name for herself, their paths cross. Rogue soon becomes a permanent fixture in Kayla and Logan's lives, but nothing is ever that simple. There are misunderstandings, offers made far too late, and an attack that affects more than just the three of them. But somehow, somewhere in between learning to cope with her new powers, getting a rebellious psyche trapped in her head, falling in love, and being kidnapped by Magneto, Rogue finds a family in Logan and Kayla that she never had before.
