G'naa's mistake all along is clinging to the idea that love is a moment, that it hits you as swiftly and suddenly as a lightning strike. That just isn't how love works for most people. Love is something that builds, slowly and surely, as a matter of experiences lived, usually of experiences shared. Everyone feels that lightning-strike moment, the moment G'naa is still waiting for, but that moment is not love, in and of itself. The lightning strike is the moment in which you realize that you're already in love, and you have been for a while, and you finally understand who or what you've fallen in love with. She expected love to be this massive, complicated thing that falls out of the sky and makes its presence unquestionably known, but love is so much smaller and simpler than that. Because she didn't know what to look for, she missed the forest through the trees. This is the moment when G'naa fell in love with Mook, and she didn't even notice. ~~~
