Summary:
A regular group of best friends in Rocky Mount, Virginia realize their lives are terrible, but they realize they can change it, and create their own destiny. they decide run away and escape their problems into the woods of Rocky Mount Virginia. They soon discover that there are magical creatures living there but magical doesn't always mean good. They stumble upon an old blind man, living in the woods. He warns them that there is a time limit to escape the woods... if not, they're stuck here forever... like the blind man. He tells them they have a limit of two weeks to get out of the woods, will they come to their senses and return home, or stay here forever and become part of the woods?

Magic? Nope. Hidden towns? Definitely not. Sexy mentors? Well.... oh, go on then. Her mentor is supposed to be there to help her through things, but will he make her life easier or more complicated? My guess is the latter, but he is so gorgeous that a little complication is a small sacrifice to make. Dane just wants to get left alone. Ever since losing his brother, he's not been quite the same. Alone Together
This story really starts in the middle. Ari, who often goes by A, is propped up against a tree in the middle of a forest with a dagger in her stomach. She's lost a lot of blood already, and she keeps losing more. Helios is kneeling next to her, and they're both trying to figure out what to do. I'll start at the beginning, though. Ari is a wanderer, traveller, adventurer, and lots of other things. She doesn't have a home, until one day she does. She's chased into the Akiire territory by the Akiire's enemies; the Tesera. Luckily for her, the chief of the Akiire tribe takes her in. Akiire medicine men and women fuss over her until they're sure she's safe. Then the Akiire initate her as a member of their tribe. She gladly accepts. She's started to like it there, after all. Then Helios starts talking to her. He's nothing special in the tribe. He's a good warrior, but all the warriors are good. The bad ones have already died. Nonetheless, by the time we get to the forest with the dagger and all that, A has only spoken to Helios a few times. Now he's her only way to stay alive.Completa
The Snake's Bride
Stranded on an uncharted island during an expedition gone wrong, Lyra must find a way to not only escape the strange island but survive its brutal environment and the creatures that lurk there. The last thing Lyra expected on this expedition is to end up stumbling into the territory of a highly aggressive and highly territorial beast that sees her as its next meal...or so she thinks. ----- Lyra has always suffered from a fear of snakes, ever since she was a young girl. She has done well to avoid the scaly creatures and keep her distance from them even while working as a toxicologist who researches and makes lifesaving cures for snake bite victims. However, working in such a field doesn't completely keep her from interacting or coming close to the animals she fears so much, especially when she's sent on an expedition along with some explorers to an uninhabited island to research and discover new species of plants and animals as well as search for an elusive and highly venomous serpent that is said to inhabit the strange isle. It also doesn't help when their helicopter suddenly malfunctions and the group ends up crash-landing in the middle of a dense jungle with no way of contacting the outside world for help. and to make things worse for poor Lyra, something seems to be stalking her in this new and unfamiliar environment. It's bad enough she's trapped with no way home in such a dangerous place, but when she comes across signs of a monster lurking somewhere on this uncharted isle, she comes to find that the worst of her nightmares have only just begun. because the thing that's been stalking her from the shadows as fangs and scales just like the creatures she fears the most, with intentions of keeping her trapped with it on the isle.

Ernwood Forest is home to people living hidden from the prying eyes of humans; the Winged and their tribes. As the months of winter roll in, nights are growing longer and snow has settled on the leafless branches. The forest is still.
