Scotland's history as you've never heard it before. Understand the sequences and time line of the oldest kingdom in the world, told in emotive and bloody stories from our country's past. Tony Harmsworth has been involved in presenting Scottish History to the public for nearly forty years.

Exhibitions he has staged include the Great Glen Exhibition, Macbeth Experience, Loch Ness Exhibition Centre, Fort Augustus Abbey Heritage Centre, Loch Ness Diorama and others. The Fort Augustus exhibition was the largest private exhibition ever to have been staged in Scotland.

In addition he has run tour businesses specialising in presenting the most interesting aspects to the history of Scotland. While doing this his tours became the first four star tour in the Highlands, the first five star tour in Scotland and the tours he was operating at his retirement had become number one on Trip Advisor for the whole of Scotland.

It was suggested he take some of the stories he uses during his tours and put them into a book. THIS is that book. All the bloodiest Scottish history from the stone age through to the first Scottish Independence Referendum.

This book takes you through the entire history of Scotland in chronological order so that you don't just learn about, say, Mary Queen of Scots, but also how she came to become a divisive figure and what lead up to the Jacobite uprisings of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Be ready to join this roller-coaster ride through Scotland's bloody past.

Trials of Gideon Book 1: The Cursed Blade by kullman
17 parts Complete
Gideon Saint is usually in trouble. It's his pastime to get involved in epic quests throughout history, namely the Middle Ages. Once again, he's run afoul of the Templars, and ancient organization of Wizards. This time, they are offering him the chance to right old wrongs, by retrieving a mysterious cursed blade. 1403 awaits. Sequel Series to Last Knights of Cambia series, and the Days of the Dead trilogy, ergo it contains spoilers for those. Similar narrative style and tone, that is if you want English history explained like Lemony Snicket, then this is for you. Ahem. Living people die, dead people live. Swords. Epic Battles. Mysterious riddles. Coded messages. True love. Traitors. Murder. Found families. Yes, Henry V is here and he is awesome. Did we mention swords? Tombs are described in loving detail. People are not. Yes you may learn something about the battle of Shrewsberry but that's a risk you're going to have to take. Content/Trigger Warning: A battle is depicted at length, relatively graphic blood/gore associated with that. A character is injured severely and must twice undergo surgery on page, this is fairly graphic and may be disturbing to some readers. Brief innuendo. Some brief strong language. Some mild sexuality. Catholicism is discussed. All disturbing scenes are usually forewarned, that is it's clear what is going to happen. Some brief peril. Some light disturbing humor relating to murder. PG-13 quality stuff, be aware of your mental state and seek support as needed.

HIGHEST RANKING #6 in HISTORICAL FICTION! --- For all her life, Lady Evie Verrick had been regaled of tales of the Highlands from her Highland born and bred mother. She had grown up dreaming of chivalrous knights, sword-fighting, horse back riding. Tales of kin and family, loyalty and the warmth of a home. But being brought up in a traditional English household with a traditional father, her mother was the closest thing to the Highlands she could get. And when her mother died of pneumonia before her coming out, left to her father's care, Evie wants now, more then ever, to see the promised lands that she grew up with. --- Connor Gilroy had served as the first in command to the MacKenzie clan for as long as he could remember. He owed his loyalty to his best friend and brother in arms, Hammond MacKenzie, who had saved him from being skinned alive by English soldiers years ago, before the truce was signed between the two lands. Having no love lost for the country, Hammond would be the only person who could ever convince Connor to step foot back into English lands. His chief had recently received news on the death of the aunt he has never met, but Hammond was a man of his word, and he had promised his father he would care for all kin, regardless of who they were. But Connor never would've imagined that the cousin of his best friend would be a spirit of the flames. The way Evie took on life and all of its problems with a passion that ignited a hearth, would perhaps be the first time someone ever ignited more then just passion and desire within him.

Outlander: The Standing Stones by martykate1
36 parts Complete Mature
Irina is an American archaeologist on vacation in Scotland. She discovers there is a ring of stones (called a menhir, if you care to learn about such things) outside of town, so she decides to go and explore. What she finds delights her, not only a henge (a stone ring) but remains of tomb mounds and she spends a happy afternoon exploring it. Just before she decides to head back to town, she lays down, unwittingly, in the shadow of a tall stone. She wakes, realizing not only had she fallen asleep, but now she discovers that something is amiss--she may not even be in her own time. Even worse, she can hear the sound of men and horses...and realizes she is trapped and has nowhere to run. Fortunately, she stumbles across a young Highlander named Jamie Fraser who helps her hide. Together they spend the night in a tomb, but when she finds out that Jamie is on the run, she insists that he leave, and she will act as bait to enable him to make his getaway. This is not your usual "Outlander" story. A good portion is OC orientated, with Jamie making appearances and then vanishing from the story until he re-appears. When my OC finally gets to Castle Leoch, Gabaldon's characters make their appearances. I had fun writing this, it was the story I wanted to write, and it's Outlander themed. So far, people seem to like it so maybe I did something right! Thank you for all of those continuing to read this story and liking it!! I appreciate your votes and your comments and appreciate that you've helped make this story one of the most popular in the "Outlander" category!!! When I posted this on FanFiction.net, I'd pretty much given up hope due to the lack of response. If you are enjoying this story, please vote.
