He goes through break downs and panic attacks at least three times a day. He takes drugs to keep the edge. He self harms. And he's alone. Until someone comes at the right time and saves him from a huge regret.
There are ups and downs of his life after a threat and he changes drastically, but that's not the end of the torment.
