"What the hell?" I screamed, jumping out of my bed and grabbing my pepper spray.

Maybe I didn't need the pepper spray, but you don't just walk into a girls room. Especially if you're a guy.

Caleb's eyes filled with alarm when he saw the spray in my hand. I always kept it close by because it helped me survive middle school. So it had to help me through high school too, right?

Caleb threw his hands up to cover his face. "Wait," he took a deep breath. "Before you spray me, I wanted to apologize. I didn't know calling you B would make you mad. And just so you know, I don't do this often."

I lowered the pepper spray and asked, "Do what?"

He sighed as if regretting something, "Apologize. I gasped. I don't know why because I knew he didn't care for anyone but himself, but he doesn't apologize? Then why did he apologize to me? So I asked him this.

He thought before answering my question, "I don't know. When I saw you run off, I just felt guilty. I've never felt that before by the way. But I realized something."

I crossed my arms and glared at him, "Oh yeah, and what's that?"

He smiled and took a step towards me, "I realized that anyone who can make me feel guilt and regret is someone worth getting to know. So what do you say? Think we can try the friend thing?"
