"Why'd you do it?" Dean asked, and she shook her head. Tears streamed down the sides of her face and sobs began to mangle the words in her throat that she desperately wanted to push out. Her head just kept shaking, her lips moved but nothing came out. "Can I save you some time?"

She glanced up, just as his arms stretched on either side of her. His nose was almost touching hers and his eyes had a gloss that she could've sworn was because of the threat of water breaching them.

"There is nothing you can say to me that will ever make it okay." The words rattled through his teeth. "I put so much hopes and dreams on you and the damage you did when you pulled yourself away is so antagonistic that I will never, ever be the same because of you."
