Somebody out there is using a chainsaw for a hammer. Dr. Anna Longshaw is in the Amazon rainforest alone, researching the effects of a plant species on a disease. During the middle of the foggy night, she awakes to a noise she can only describe as somebody using a chainsaw as a hammer. Determined to find the source, she sets off on foot through the jungle alone. She will uncover danger that she alone must face, and over the course of a single night alone in the jungle--fear for her life more than once.

Frantically she scrapes at her skin to get their scents off, but knowing she can't be caught de-scenting she starting swimming down stream. Better to be caught running than them thinking you have something to hide.
