It was a cool winter night. We were sitting on the top of our apartment building, watching the artificial lights flicker. As a plane flew overhead, he looked to me, eyes burrowing into mine. He carefully moved closer, almost as if he was asking for permission. I turned away from him, and apologized, just as I stood up and walked towards the room top door. Just before I turned the knob, he held onto my waist and pulled me into a gentle kiss.
