i ran and ran, unsure anymore of who or what i was running from; i only knew i had to keep moving. i smacked branched out of my face as i ran through the woods and suddenly, i was at the edge of an oval-shaped clearing with a pretty good-sized creek running through it. i only paused for a second, for i heard my pursuer crashing through the trees and brush behind me. so, i took off running towards the creek. the closer i got to it, the wider it seemed to be. by the time i got to the edge of the bank, it was about seven feet wide. but, i still took a leap of faith, and i ended up on the other bank. i looked back across to see if i had slowed my pursuer down any; no such luck. he cam crashing through the trees after me. he paused at the edge of the clearing, looked around, spotted me, and cam running towards me once again. it seemed like he didn't even see the creek at first, but then he realized just where he was heading, and he knew he wouldn't be able to make it across. so, he tried to stop at the edge of the bank, but inertia had other ideas, and he plummeted down the 8 or 9 feet into the creek. i stood there for a second, watching him struggle to climb the steep bank, and yell in frustration when he failed again and again; it was actually quite funny. it was then that he seemed to realize that i was still standing there, and he looked up at me with pleading eyes and outstretched a hand up towards me. "Help me...please," he begged. i looked between him and his hand, then promptly turned on me heel, and ran back towards the woods. as i once again returned to the forest, i could hear him calling me back to help him, just like all the other times before. "Come back! Come back, please! Hannah...!"
