Carla Xeraphina killed herself when she protected Adam Césaire from a mafia leader-his mother, Olympia Césaire. She once sought to eliminate the young girl out of the thought that Adam was kidnapped by the Xeraphina's princess.
Shortly after Klara Ludenberg brought Carla back from the dead, she tasked the girl with a mission to put Laura White's spirit at rest. Knowing she couldn't do it alone, Klara looked on to Carla's newfound friends-who also turned out to be magic users-to aid her in putting the Ghost Witch to eternal rest.
But as Carla weakens the spirit, she loses the people she loves in the process. She is still recovering from her own death, and seeing deaths pile up one after the other after she comes back from it causes her to do her deeds out of emotion.
