Placerville, California. This is where I live in a world full of zombies. My name is Kaitlyn, but my friends call me Lyn for short. At the moment my friends and I live at my high school, El Dorado High school. When the zombie plague first hit Placerville, we blocked the roads with cars and rubble from buildings we blew up to keep the zombies out and drive them away.
Each and every day, life goes on here at El Dorado. Drama students provide entertainment, Culinary arts provide food, and PE provides exercise for us if we ever need to run from the school or fight. We have additional classes that help us learn how to drive or shoot a gun.
Every so often, we'd go out to rescue survivors who are out on the streets or in need of help. We began doing that when we invited Markham Middle school to come up to El Dorado when the plague first hit. My group of crazy friends and I always volunteer first. But, every day, I wonder: is anyone living on Earth without the influence of the zombies?
When Jane Madarang's neighbor Natalie kills herself and leaves behind cryptic instructions, it's up to Jane and her classmates to unearth deadly secrets.
