My body was shaking with adrenaline. Oh god. Start. Please start. I jiggled the keys furiously, willing the car to move. It didn't budge. "Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit!" I muttered to myself as I saw the approaching train. This was not the time or place for my car to break down. Of all places the place where my old beat up Chevy could die, it chose a train stop. Seriously! The rain was pouring down all around and the drops hitting the metal of the car was deafening. I could barely hear myself think, and the only noise that was audible was the horn of the train sounding off at full blast trying to alert me. The train was getting closer. It was pitch black outside, and the lights of the train were getting awfully close. Real fear started to set in. My hands refused to stay still; they continued to shake as I tried the ignition again, and again. The keys slipped through my sweaty fingers and were lost to the floor. The train was too close now. No way could it stop. If I stopped to breath, I would be able to see all the rivets and bolts that made the train, perfectly. "Come on!" I screamed. There was no reply. There wasn’t enough time to get out of the car. I looked one last time at the train as it barrelled toward me, only a couple yards away. I screamed as loud as I could, unable to move. My body braced for the impact of the train that was surely going to kill me.

Complete! "You know I really like you, right?" He was definitely drunk. "You do?" I asked. My voice was supposed to be teasing, but I think it came off as a bit startled. He laughed, "Yeah, why else would I trust you with all my secrets?" -- Betty was many things; a romantic, a fashion designer, a bit more jealous than the average girl, great with a camera, a helpful daughter and a good friend. But she was best known for being nice. And usually, the boy did not want the 'nice' girl. But this summer she was going to prove to Mike, her crush since FOREVER, that nice was enough. She was going to have an amazing summer, a perfect Junior year, and finally have her first kiss. It was a foolproof plan. Moving from her childhood home in Arizona to New Mexico at the start of Junior year was never a part of Betty's plan. But sometimes when parents are involved, plans change. So now the nice girl had to start over at a new school in a new State. And when the (maybe not so bad) bad boy, Eli, gets involved, it might be hard to be known as 'the nice girl'.
