Alex is an ordinary, everyday 12 year old girl, who loves horses. She falls in love with a gorgeous, grey Lipizzan horse after a mass kill accident at a fair. Dakota, the Lipizzan finds a beautiful stallion after 3 years with Alex, Lucozan, a charming Mustang. The two fall in love, and Alex, though human, gets jealous and tries to shoo away the father to Dakotas unborn foal, but after witnessing his capture and Dakotas heart breaking depression, Alex puts her own life in danger for Dakota, their foal and Lucozan's future.
