Cat Runine has nowhere to go. Or, rather, she has nowhere that she wants to go. She is content where she stays, happy to let life just zip by her as she watches from the sidelines. The people in her life, however, have a different plan for her. A plan that involves college. And a future. It's her junior year in high school, and she has a new English teacher. Carter Gregg, or Mr Gregg. Cat doesn't like school and she certainly doesn't like teachers, but when a certain essay brings Carter and Cat closer together than Cat would like, she realizes that a future might not be the worst thing in the world...
