The Shattered World
Disclaimers: This story may include violence that can be upsetting to some readers. It can be more gruesome than you think, with a lot of psychological horror themes. In the near future, Mr. Donald J. Trump is the President of the United States of America, and there have been some radical changes. Some for the better, and some for the worse. Some are just plain weird. Most notably, however, a giant wall exists at the border of Mexico and the U.S. to stop illegal immigration in Trump's ideology. That's all great, but when Ramon Juarez, a Mexican-American man who immigrated to America years before is caught in the middle of a family crisis that presents certain legal problems in this new, outlandish world, he'll have to break some laws and team up with a couple of dorks to save the day. Inspired by the Trump Craze of the recent months, this is a political comedy, intended to be as uncompromisingly funny as humanly possible. I'm in ninth grade and, at 33 pages long, this is my first story ever. I originally wrote it for the holidays late last year on Google Docs, but my family, friends, and peers loved it, so I figured I'd share it online. Enjoy! NOTICE: This story is labeled as not mature, but it does contain a few suggestive references and mild expletives, so make of it what you may.

PROLOGUE My name is Alex Kahill. On July 15, 2017, I killed a person, but am not accused of murder. However, I am being hunted by those who hold me responsible for this death...and most certainly, these folks fully intend to terminate my life. Three months ago, my life was actually better than good. I was taking a personal sabbatical in picturesque Western New York, doing three things that I dearly love. (1) Riding my bike (2) Flying my drone and (3) Visiting my son, Ben, who was interning as an environmental reporter for the Chautauqua Daily, a local paper serving the Chautauqua Institution. Better than good. And then out of nowhere, my existence went to shit. You know, the killing thing. So I'm writing this journal as a cry for help. In an effort to make some sense of the tragic events that have recently unfolded in my life, I'm hoping that if enough light is shed on what happened to me, my potential demise might literally become "troublesome" for those who would do me harm...maybe I'm just being naive, but it's worth a shot. At this point, I don't really have much to lose. I am no writer, so please bear with me. But know that I am totally vulnerable, so I'll try to be thorough as I tell my story. It probably would be good to start at the beginning.

Cliché, Touché and Douche
{Completed - #12 highest} I was walking on a path all alone at midnight. I was just wondering around, until I saw a guy in a hoodie. He was beating the pulp out of another guy and one more man was on the ground, he was not moving. I gasped. 'Is he dead?' Or he can be unconscious, yeah 'el' he is just unconscious not dead. Duh! Who would kill a guy? As I was proceeding with my thoughts, that hoodie guy turned his face towards me. My heart had a mini heart attack. I turned my heels to the opposite direction and started to run. 'Run Ella, run for your life' was what my mind was screaming to me. I took turns without thinking, that guy was now following me and guess what? I took a wrong turn and which ended up being a dead end ' You are so dead' I thought. So, I started to think what I said last time to the people I love. 'Good night mom, love you.' to my mom, 'Stop annoying me! I'm going to bed.' to dad which also mean I love you, 'See you later Lu, love you!' to Luana. Okay my good bye says I love them all. Now I can die in peace. Granddad I'll meet you soon in the heaven, if you are there. I was still in my deep thoughts until I saw his silhouette. As, he get closer, my heart begin to race faster. I closed my eyes, until I heard him say "Ella?" O to the M to the G, this person actually knows me. I opened my one eye and saw him due to the small light hanging in that ally "Errrrr'ick!" I squeaked and mentally face palmed myself. Even at this state I'm calling him Errr'ick. "I'm sorry your highness, what can I do for you?" I squeaked again while trembling. The next second I heard his fits of laughter. He was rolling on the floor, actually rofling. I was glaring at him but I realised that I'm not in a position to glare. So, I made puppy dog face for him to spare my little life. He stopped but after seeing my face, he started to laugh again. He tried to say between his guffaws "You..... your face .....was epiccc!" He started to gasp for air and had tears in his eyes.

"Because I care about you more than anything else in this entire world. Just remember, you and Hope are my destination, and I'm ready to take any path which leads me to you both."

I closed my eyes tightly until I heard laughing. No, I could feel the laughing. My eyes sprang open to find Miles on top of me. I was laying flat on my back in the dirt with my glove with the ball inside pressed against his chest. Miles was not at all fat, but he was 6'2 compared to my barely 5'3. I could feel his chest rumbling and shaking with laughter as I lay humiliated on the ground. "I didn't know you liked being on the bottom," Miles said loudly. The whole field cracked up with that. I struggled under him and shoved him off of me. All of the guys were howling with laughter as I got up and swiped all the dirt off me. "Pervert," I muttered, before tossing the ball out of my glove to hit him in the thigh. I stalked across the field without another word. The whole team was in hysterics as I shoved all my things in my bag and practically ran off to get away. ... Gloria is like any other 17 year old girl getting ready for summer break, but this summer is going to be completely different. Gloria has been playing baseball since she could remember and has been invited to a national baseball camp. Being a girl in the world of a male-dominated sport, she couldn't even count how many times people have told her she needed to find something else to do. Her dad kept her playing though, even after he died a few years ago, that didn't stop Gloria from doing what she loved. The only problem is she is the only girl at the camp for three months. Enter the problem of suddenly having to share a room, more specifically, sharing with Miles Harris. Gloria must deal with Miles, a big shot and arrogant jerk, and all the other horny, testosterone driven baseball players, who just might push Gloria off the edge of sanity.
