Many years after Queen Eadlyn's rule, Illea was invaded by an army of peacekeepers. Eventually, after the king and queen had been murdered, the ruthless leader of the army, President Snow, took charge to lead this newly founded country and changed its name to Panem.
The president liked the idea of the Selection that had been previously explained to him by a former citizen of Illea, so he decided to keep it intact, but added his own brutal twist: turning it into a savage, violent fight to the death that would be televised for all the country to see.

The first Selection Games will be held for President Snow's grandsons, Albus and Julius. 24 girls from the ages of 16 to 19, two from each district, will be chosen at an event known as the reaping. After the girls fight each other in the arena, Albus and Julius will choose one of the last standing to be their wives and the future ruler of Panem.

On reaping day, will the teenage girls of Panem awaken feeling anticipation or terror? And for 24 of them, including Morgan Stafford, a headstrong fisherman's daughter, is the Selection Games the chance of a lifetime...or a death sentence?

Far into the future of humankind, there existed a country named Panem, which occupied what was once North America. It consisted of thirteen districts and one cruel, powerful Capitol that ruled them. But after the rebellion of Katniss Everdeen, Panem became a scattered country of chaos and, after several years of struggling and failing to found a new government, wore away into extinction. One hundred years later, Panem rose up out of the ashes and conquered all of Europe, establishing their own land there and naming themselves New Panem. To honor the ways of their original country, New Panem brought back the Hunger Games and started where they had left off—the 76th Hunger Games. About 50 years later, New Panem is thriving. In District 4, 12-year-old Sandi Coin (a descendant of President Coin) is living the good life—until her first reaping. When Sandi gets chosen to participate in the 130th Hunger Games, she knows her life is going to turn upside-down—and come to its end. And as she travels around the Capitol to participate in the events before the Games, Sandi finds herself in the midst of many odd characters—an over-enthusiastic mentor, a grumpy stylist, a murderous accompanying tribute, three kind friends, a cute boy, and a hostile group of killers—who are not who they seem to be. Meanwhile, Sandi faces problems of her own during and before the Games, and soon she is not sure who she really is. Will she be able to survive the horrifying Hunger Games, or will she let her troubles lead her to her doom? Entry for the #asawritcon

In Rowland, a kingdom void of love, where even a kiss is unheard of, Illyria is the prim and proper niece of the King, and his unofficial body guard. This princess has never been sated with her position, and has done everything in her power to climb the political ladder to reach the power and prestige she craves, the position of General over the kings army. On the eve of a marriage arranged to help her climb, a mysterious foreign ruler intrudes the castle walls, a masked leader known only as "The Sovereign." King Hal of Rowland takes this invasion to be a declaration of war, but instead the Sovereign is there to make him an offer he can't refuse. Can he, his twin brother, cousin and the other young men who have mastered seduction and romance to an art form even turn the heads of icy, detached ladies who have never even heard of it? If they fail, war will soon follow. In this medieval Hunger Games, What happens when politics meet passion? 100 of Morwick's men must face off against 100 of Rowland's women during "Bedding Camp".
