James Holden has had a pretty bad life. Having alcoholics for parents, with them not caring about anything he did except for if he had got in trouble at school and they had to come and get him. Never once did he have a good parent. School? People bullied him. Home? His parents neglected and punished him. He is filled with so much pain the only way he could think to handle it was to punish himself more. Each day some new cuts were made. Never thinking he will ever have happiness. He never thought he would live past his teenage years. Sam Hems is the opposite. He always has a smile on. Joining school groups. Nice to everyone he meets. Straight A student. A loving mom and a caring dad with a little sister. Whenever somebody was around Sam they could not help it to just be in a good mood. His family moves to a new town and he is enrolled in the local high school. He is the person who will stick up for someone they don't know, and that's exactly what he did. He stood up for James. They became close. People still tried to pick on James but Sam would always stand up for him. As time went by the two grew closer.

" It's easy for Sam to become his own worst enemy and he often finds himself thinking and expecting the worst because it seems to be the easiest thing to believe in when he isn't true to himself. He only realizes when he becomes aware of how he fucked up. Like now, he wouldn't say he totally messed up but that changes when class starts and the seat next to him stays empty. He turns his head, eyes scouring the room soon to find the brunette sat in the seat he used to sit in before moving next to him. A frown stretches across his face and he realizes it's all his fault, his heart sinks to his stomach as he sees the gloomy expression he holds. He hadn't realized how passionate he felt about being his friend. " Or, Sam piques Colby's interest and he makes it his own mission to become his friend knowing the hard obstacle it will be when figuring out his trust issues and shyness- however he doesn't realize just how hard it would be to accomplish. With hidden secrets and heartfelt situations, the wanted friendship will either fall through or become something so much more neither would have ever imagined.
