Selene and Caralye are Soulmates-they just haven't found each other yet. Every single human on earth is born with a tattoo of a seed on the inside of their wrist-but it's no ordinary tattoo, it's a Soulmark. On the day of a person's eighteenth birthday, the seed starts to grow into a tattoo of a plant, a tattoo that will act as a compass, leading a person to their Soulmate; the more it grows, the closer it a person is, to finding their other half. But there's a catch-if you don't find your Soulmate by your 21st birthday, you and your Soulmate will die.
