After George accidentally outs himself in front of the popular and homophobic guys of the school everything seems fine at first. However, that soon changes when he receives weird and hurtful messages online, this soon escalates from just one message to something much more serious. Meanwhile, Clay is closeted yet he has known he likes boys for a while now after falling for George. However, he can never seem to find the time to talk to anyone about this as he has to constantly help his sick mum and sister. With the cyber bullying all becoming too much, George becomes extremely overwhelmed, while Clay finds himself taking more and more medication to calm himself every day. This soon escalated from a small issue into something unimaginably worse. Clay has autism and finds comfort in simple things, the illuminated a fireplace on a winter's night, fish swimming and stuffed animals. However, this was all soon to change after a tragic accident. Clay finds himself alone, seeing his happiness slip away from one simple mistake. George doesn't have an easy home life, after noticing signs of possibly a muscle disease, his only wish is to get help for it, however his parents deny every word that is brought up about it. Yet, it gets worse by the day as George quickly looses any hope left. When Clay is left traumatised by his past, he thinks nothing will bring back the same happiness he once felt, but when George moves into the farm he often visits, that same joy that was extinguished with the fire, sparks again... Clay had been closeted all his life and planned for it to remain that way. But, with having homophobic parents it was seemingly impossible to ever find the happiness he longed for. After being outed to the only people he now disliked the most, his parents react worse than expected and Clay falls into a pit of loneliness when he gets sent to conversion therapy to "turn him straight again". George had homophobic parents too and goes through the same. When times are at its worst somehow these two meet each other and now they are isolated from reality in the therapy school.
