Pain is an indefinite article. It demands to be heard, to be felt. However, it can't be defined by the laws of the world because it has no true form. Pain is not a person, or a thing, it's a feeling. But what contributes a feeling as a feeling? An emotion? And if that is the case why does it come in so many forms. Physical pain, emotional pain, mental pain, and spiritual pain. One breaks your body, two breaks your love for others and yourself, the third breaks your mind; making it impossible to cope with life. The fourth breaks your spirit. And a broken spirit is hard to come back from. I've experienced all but the last one. Pain is an indefinite article and it tore me to pieces. The people in my life could no more understand pain than they could understand me. I am a caged bird with broken wings who lost her song. I don't have an image for myself because I am broken.
