Deviin Rowe wasn't known as a genius - didn't even stand apart as a loner. He was merely a slacker with a reputation for skipping school on Fridays, C-average grades and a relationship that clearly wasn't working. The only thing he held onto that set him apart was his love for the freedom of the sky; the thought of flying. With the new befriending of self-proclaimed daredevil Shane O'Connor, Deviin begins to see life in a different light. That every day is an adventure waiting to be had. And the admiration he feels for Shane might be something more. But things aren't that simple, Deviin realizes, as he begins to fall for his best friend Jace as well.

The club wasn't where she imagined herself working, but it was the only place that would take her. The air was thick with smoke, and the neon lights did little to chase away the darkness inside.
