We are the Shadows. They stand in front of us, center stage, all eyes on them, enjoying the attention. We follow them silently, no one acknowledging our presence. No one bothers to look at us, only them. We are the outsiders, the loners, the forgotten ones. Harper and Scarlette have been best friends for four years. As they enter their sophomore year of high school, they planned on staying just as inseparable. But each have problems of their own. Harper lives with a verbally and physically abusive stepmother and stepbrother, not to mention the guy she likes and is even friends with chose a manipulative, popular girl over her. Scarlette's home life isn't easy either, and her long, 4-year-old crush continues to break her heart every day. Both girls will face new drama being stirred up by old and new enemies meant to rip them apart. Will they manage to wade through the lies and make it through the year with their friendship still intact?
