When Michele Dentman was a little girl she never thought by the time she began her senior year in high school she would be living alone dealing with the aftermath of her family tragedy, when a new boy in school changes everything, showing her that she can love and be loved again. How to Love Again, is a novel set in Tacoma, Washington. After losing her parents and identical twin sister in a tragic drunk driving car accident two years ago, Michele Dentman is now being cared for by her grandmother who is now hospitalized with only weeks to live. Beginning her senior year in high school, Michele, the most popular girl in school is nearly run down by a new student on the football team, Logan McKenzie. Logan falls instantly falls head over heals in love with her unaware of her tragic family history. I wrote this in the spring of 2009 and I tried to find an outlet to publish this story but had no luck. At the urging of others I don't want my story to go left unread s decided to post it here. While everyone else fights to be seen, she chooses to disappear. While people chase attention, she walks away from it. In a world where everyone wants something from him, she wants nothing at all. And that's what pulls him in. The more he notices her, the harder it is to stop. Not because she's quiet-but because she's different. Because she carries herself like she knows more about pain than anyone should. Because Daniel can't shake the feeling that if he doesn't try to understand her, no one ever will. But Violet's world isn't made for saving. It's built for surviving. And letting him close might be the most dangerous choice she's ever made.
