No one else can tell her story, because no one else knows the truth.

We come from different times, different lives, and different places, but our story is the same. No one else will listen. No one else can see. We buried ourselves in the pain, because everything reminded us of her, and we could never forget. With our help, the world is one step closer to her.

To the truth.

To fate.

There is only one past, and one future... Just listen, and we'll tell you everything we know.

Devlin Campbell doesn't have much left in the world, except a not-so-old man, a dog that sounds like a dying turkey whenever he barks, and a red hoodie he'd rather die than let anyone else touch.

After surviving a car accident that kills both of his parents, he leaves behind the life he knew in the U.S. to move halfway around the world and live with his great-grandfather. There isn't much to the English countryside, other than drinking tea on the front porch and working in Grandpa Thomas' gardens all day. They go into town every now and then, but he's more or less good with his miniscule social circle.

When Devlin wished for just a little more excitement, though, investigating rumors about vicious animal attacks in Yorkshire wasn't exactly what Devon had in mind.

When a chance encounter with a gypsy girl spins his entire reality out of control, Devlin falls headfirst into a world of magic and monsters on the English moors, where it's normal believe in ancient curses and the power of the written word. The truth he discovers in the attic of his great-grandfather's house-- and the secret he keeps from the world-- will change him forever.

For better, for worse, and especially after death.
