"Anything I can do, Madelynn?" Jake inquired, sitting next to her on the damp wooden park bench. His hands resided within his leather jacket pockets as he gazed at the dark circles beneath her eyes. She wore a blank expression and rarely blinked, rocking back and forth slightly while staring at the black asphalt below. ".. Madelynn?" He asked once more, reaching out to touch her shoulder. Immediately she reared back, staring in immense paranoia at the fingers that were reaching out to comfort her. Jake was somewhat hurt. Holding back his feelings, he slowly lowered his arm and gripped the park bench beneath him. Madelynn brushed a stray hair behind her ear and continued staring at the black pavement before saying, "What about Mary?"

She didn't want to look at it, and she still wasn't sure she wouldn't rather take her chances with the open air instead. "Stop it, I'm not going to hurt you! You'll hit your head on the rock or something. Wren, please!" It knew her name. Somehow it knew her. She was going to die! "Let me go! Stop touching me!" She was sitting on the rocky floor now with her back against an uneven wall, and it was trying to pin her down and hold her still. She kept her eyes turned away and struggled helplessly, but it was no use. It was strong like a human man too, and she couldn't keep it off of her. The wings had moved until they curved around them both and shut out a lot of the light. Its face was so near hers that she could feel its breath brushing against her skin. "Please just look at me for a second. Just look. I'm not going to hurt you." One of the hands grabbed her chin and forced her head to turn, and then she was looking straight into a pair of dark brown eyes. It had a human face too. She had been expecting something monstrous or ghastly, and the surprise made her falter for a moment. He looked young, with a bad haircut and an earnest expression on his face. "I'll let go of you, okay? Just don't lunge around like that anymore, you'll get hurt." He whispered.

I asked tapping a little his arm making him surprise by my question. "You want to touch....my hair??" He asked pinpointing his brown coloured shining soft shoulder length hair. I just nod looking down at my shoes feeling totally embarrassed. A perfect angelic smile escaped from his mouth while trying to catch my crimson reddend face. 'Such a cutie!' That's where I saw her, just underneath the weeping willow. She sat with this solemn look on her face as she read this huge book. And that's when I just got confused, how could someone so beautiful look so sad? It never looked right to me, even when I was just so young. Now everyday she sits beneath that tree, for six years. It took me six years just to get the courage to just sit next to her, with the help of a little anger from my family. As he slowly approached the bench overseeing the vast body of water, glittering over the moonlight, he noticed a slim figure standing closer to the edge of the coast. Facing away from him. Dressed in a thin blue, floral printed dress, stood a woman. Her long silky black hair blowing softly as the wind picked up, some loose black curls bouncing against her lower back. She crossed her arms across her chest, rubbing her delicate fingers over her upper arms which were barely covered by thin sleeves. A surge of lust rushed through him and he envisioned what it would feel like to have those fingers rub against his skin. And then another emotion erupted in his chest as he got a little closer, realizing that the girl was shaking. A sudden, all consuming surge of protectiveness filled him as he watched her. Without even seeing her face. A complete stranger. He immediately stopped in his tracks, confused as to what was happening to him. Why was he so tormented at the sight of this stranger. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he thought of retracting back to his car. It was already so late and his Ana must be worried. He had left without telling her where he was going, his mind disturbed with scattered thoughts that he was never able to understand. He looked around the place, noticing the eerie silence that consumed the gloomy atmosphere, before his eyes made their way back to her. Again his chest constricted at the sight of this stranger, making it hard to breath. He abruptly turned away, confused and annoyed. He was only able to take a step before he stopped. Concern and curiosity filled his mind and he looked back at her. Still standing, her back straight, hair blowing, hugging herself, silently weeping. "F*** it" he whispered to himself, before approaching her.
