Mais has a checkered past with the law, so it is shocking, to herself and former colleagues, that she has now been accepted as a K-9 officer on the elite Intelligence Unit. While balancing her new and promising career, and keeping her private life private, Mais has no room for distractions, no matter what tempting forms they may appear as. And damn are the options enticing, between the forbidden tension of detective Antonio Dawson and the boyish charms of firefighter Peter Mills.
