I squinted under the probing rays of sunlight as I was forced under the wooden head chamber of the guillotine. Hordes of people shouted obscenities at me. I should be afraid. And yet, I feel sadistically overjoyed that all of these people had come to see me die. I felt strangely at ease. I heard the yell of the executioner asked he cut the rope suspending the blade ten feet above my head. The clan of spectators fell silent and I heard the sound of sharp metal cutting through the air. Oh, the sound I knew too well. Then my world went dark.

Born a commoner, Seraphina has only known the harsh life of a farmer's daughter. Even as the Kingdom of Theron's prosperity brought more wealth to the land the common folk never received any of it. This sparked a revolt throughout the commoners causing the kingdom to lose immeasurable amounts of wealth. The King of Theron, Quincy Quardelious, declared that until the commoners stopped the revolt a woman would be taken and executed in the kingdom. It would only be a matter of time until Seraphina would be chosen... -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- The wind whipped my hair into a mess as I stood before the guillotine. The high people in society looked at me in excitement as they waited for my head to roll at their feet. I had no intention of letting that happen however. King Quincy sat high above but his gaze felt as if he was standing right in front of me... It was an immense pressure bearing down on me as I raised my head to look up at him. He looked grim as his dark presence seemed to grow the more I stared. "Keep your head down you peasant!" I received a blow to the head as the guard yelled harshly at me. "You don't deserve to look at his majesty!!!" Gritting my teeth I looked for the person who promised he would put an end to this... I was suddenly pushed down on my knees as the guillotine opened for me. As my head was forced into place I lost my hope of surviving. I was played like a fool... "Let the execution commence!!!" Giggles and laughter filled the air as a sickening feeling filled my empty stomach. The crowd went silent as footsteps appeared behind me. Many gasped in shock as the footsteps stopped beside me. I couldn't look around which made me nervous as to who made them go silent. I know it wasn't the king but no one else holds that kind of power besides... The lock holding my head in place fell to the ground with a thud as a strong hand pulled me up slowly. As I slowly looked up, realisation finally hit me as to who saved me from peril...
