Their whole purpose is to keep the supernatural under control & stay as low profile as possible, especially in front of humans. Their powers were given to them by their leader, Reality. He controlled most of the supernatural covens, but a few got out of hand, making them now their enemies. He's a good leader, not the best. It's in the time of change. Everyone morphs by the time they're ten into a Vampire or a Nonsept. Vampires? Pretty straight forward; they grow fangs and tear throats out. Nonsept? A little harder. They're the abandoned. If the change into a Vampire malfunctions somehow, their souls are taken and they are Nonsept, void of all emotions and willpower. You do NOT want to encounter a Nonsept. Anyway, back to Montilo. Many people live here only because it gives them what they need. But there is a monster here, who feeds on the fear of others. A Vampire, if you will. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else.
