I have many reasons for this but the biggest one is that I've grown out of my d&p phase (I still love and support them both) and mostly cringe whenever I get reminded of this book. Dan is believed to be a grumpy badass by most. There is some truth to that. But, under the surface he is a sweet and happy guy. Phil has a happy life but can never seem to find true happiness... Until Dan. Phil uses the illusion of happiness to hide the true darkness within him. When the two have a chance encounter, their lives change forever.
