Aaron Woods is fascinated with astronomy. He's been made fun of for having his heads in the clouds and has always been a bit of a loner but that has never dulled his passion for the mysteries of the universe. It's summer and when his new next door neighbor -bad ass Sunshine Maldonaldo- moves in, an unexpected friendship begins to form. As the summer nights pass by, Aaron strips down the layers of Sunny's bad ass image and they learn things about each other and themselves that they never thought they ever would.
