Jackson Winters hates people. He is bullied at school because he has severe social anxiety and doesn't have many  friends. Just before his sophomore year starts, he hatches a great idea to create a Book of Thoughts, a book in which he will write down all of the thoughts that he is too afraid to tell his classmates out loud.
