In a village at the mercy of a foul vampire (and other superstitions), cousins Constanta and Cornelia come of age. Cornelia, a natural sceptic, dares to defy tradition. Fed up with the embarrassment of red hair and the superstitions surrounding it, she is determined to uncover the lies that restrict girls' lives. Heads up: this is a story about menstruation. Because, you know. Vampires. Blood. I'm sure you can imagine where this is going. It's strange that menstrual blood doesn't get mentioned a lot in this genre; it seems to be too taboo for even vampire stories. However, this is also a sweet story about family, friendship and first love, and I hope you'll take a look.
