Girl. That was how they were addressed. Not even given a name, but they knew where they came from. However, they didn’t know who they were. The girls hadn’t chosen this path and road. They were kidnapped into, sold into, persuaded into and even born into the lifestyle. Go ahead and say it. Prostitute. When you think of that word who do you think of? Is it a woman in fishnets and heels walking down the street in the middle of the night? But you would never think about a teenage girl in converse, a hoodie, and a pair of American Eagle jeans or a little girl with braided pigtails wearing clothes from Justice or Gap. In reality, these young girls are the ones being sold. Young girls all over the world are being thrown into an industry full of sex and money. The average age for a girl to be brought into the sex trafficking business is 9-13. She could be your sister, cousin, classmate, best friend, or daughter. This is the story of four girls, who are sisters, cousins, best friends, and daughters, but most importantly they are people, and their stories deserve to be told.
