Its about a teenage girl named Claire age 17 in 11th grade at John Scott highschool she is just shy and has a diary she never let's anyone read not even her best friend Jessica. If someone usually asks her if I can see she says my eyes mine only. Her life at home is not the best her dad died of stroke and her mom is an alcoholic and her young sister which is 14 named Ashley in 8th grade is just all about passing getting into a good college, she usually is also curious and tries to grab Claire's diary but never succeeded but she mostly is there for Claire at her bad times. Meanwhile at Claire's school Claire likes this guy but never shows it named Ruto but this other girl with nice ginger hair with green eyes has a major crush on Ruto as well and her name is Naomi. Naomi and Ruto talk sometimes (Naomi isn't a important character in the beginning!) meanwhile Claire is a leftover with only her Jessica and her diary. Her mother was always stressed between being a single mom and dealing with her sister. So the girl used her studies and books as an escape method from the real world. However, he has a smart mouth and doesn't know when to shut it. He says what's on his mind, or just says what will help him win an argument. He doesn't think about how what he says could affect him or someone else. He lives near Rhiya, but has never noticed her. He's always been in his own world, especially after gaining a bunch of followers on TikTok, Instagram, and other social media. He lands himself in community service, which wasn't a surprise for some of the people that know him, but it also was. He ends up trying to get with someone, just to get his mind off of things, but he realizes Rhiya isn't going to be that easy to get. She went back completely wasted and needed a place to stay for the night since her dad was on her ass about getting drunk so she stays with him. After a bunch of run ins with the both of them, Sammi makes up a rumor about James, insinuating it was Emma who started it. James watches Emma embarrass herself on multiple different occasions, And still wont explain why he is upset with her.
