The first wizarding war is on the rise and no one safe. It kills everyone in its path, including the parents of Estella and Sadie Cullen. The girls are forced to leave their home and move to France with their grandmother where Estella faces her first year as a student at the Beauxbatons Academy. Fast forward five years and her younger sister Sadie is ready to start her journey as a young witch. In the blink of an eye Estella's world transforms around her as she moves back to England and now attends the school in which her parents met: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Estella is an exceptional student, never getting below an Outstanding on an exam, but will a certain boy with grey eyes change all of that from the moment they meet? However, the difficult times are not only laced into the fabric of British wizarding society, as unrest is beginning to take place from within the castle walls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Many of the pureblood students echo the traditional sentiments of their parents, so what will happen when a talented young first year by the name of Tom Riddle joins the school? Will he travel down the path that we know of him and become the feared Lord Voldemort, or will the offer of friendship and love from the students of the marauders era be enough to sway him from his destiny? Follow Lyra Black (original character) and the rest of the next generation of The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black (Bellatrix, Sirius, Andromeda, Narcissa and Regulus) as they attend Hogwarts. As they struggle through familial control and expectations, changes within their society, love, friendship, house rivalries and their own inner demons, will the heirs of the Black line be able to maintain their once strong familial bonds as they get pulled in different directions? This story deviates from the original timelines of the Harry Potter series in order to accommodate many of the characters that we know and love (or love to hate)! Lots of characters are brought together within the space of a few years, so their birth years will not be accurate. Also there are some other changes, such as age of attendance to Hogwarts beginning at 15 (and ending at 22) because I didn't want to write about 11 year olds! ;) This story is based off the Harry Potter series and all rights belong to J.K. Rowling. I only own Lyra Black, other original characters and original plot lines.

She was tired, she was so bloody tired of it all. From the constant nagging and picking and pulling to the waking up at 6 am everyday to do that stupid crap. She didn't think it was stupid really, she just didn't like having to do it. She didn't really like having to do schoolwork either, but she found herself to be fond of the teachers and the curriculums. Most of all though, she didn't mind being at school all too much because it kept her away from the house. She found James to be nice, and Sirius to be troublesome, Peter was quite thoughtful, but Remus, he was kind to her. She had found that Remus was her favorite of them all, he was really very kind to her. What she had really come to see though, was the fact that he had scars too, and that meant they matched. Mature content. There are certain parts of this story that I will put a trigger warning before but you should keep cautioun when reading because I mention a lot of triggering things and topics in this book including self harm, abuse, mental illnesses etc. Also, the first year is really shitty writing and like the first part of fourth but I swear it gets so much better. I just haven't gotten around to editing the bad bits yet :( Credit to J.K. Rowling for the characters and parts of the plot and obviously Hogwarts fandom and Everything Harry Potter related. But, credit to J.K. Rowling. I mean- for everything other than my plots and characters too so.

James and Lily are finally civil but Lily finds herself feeling something more that she can't keep denying. Remus is drowning himself in school work, blaming the upcoming NEWTs, but Sirius isn't convinced, could there be another reason for his constant avoidance? Meanwhile, a new arrival in school has easily made friends with all her fellow Gryffindors... except Marlene: determined to befriend the newbie, Marlene insists on spending more and more time with her. There could be more to all these friendships, but with the stress of NEWTS and a potential war on the horizon, will love blossom, or is it too dangerous to keep loved ones close?
