There is a Freudian theory that the subconscious is made up of three components, Ego, SuperEgo, and Id. One would think that you would all be born with these things, that they all develop together as one would grow and experience things.

Not Elise. She has spent most of her life with one thing in mind.

“What is in it for me?”

She is impulsive, greedy, and immature. All she cares about is herself, seeing as her subconscious is made up of only one component.

Id.

When she seeks out an old ritual that would allow her to venture deep into her own subconscious, to find the other two parts of her subconscious, she finds that there is more to herself than she had ever expected.
