"The Purloined Letter" is a short story by American author Edgar Allan Poe. It is the third of his three detective stories featuring the fictional C. Auguste Dupin, the other two being "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" and "The Mystery of Marie Rogêt". These stories are considered to be important early forerunners of the modern detective story. It first appeared in the literary annual The Gift for 1845 (1844) and was soon reprinted in numerous journals and newspapers.

[COMPLETE] This was all set up by them. Poe and Ranpo decided to trap the Port Mafia and the Armed Detective Agency in a murder mystery novel. The novel is set at a cold setting in a hotel, where multiple murders take place. Some are just injured; some are fully dead. Some are random people; some are part of the two organisations. One is the murderer, and they're smart. Akutagawa didn't know what to do. Atsushi only wants one thing to happen. The others are not aware of it yet they all suspect something's brewing up between them. 2) Dazai never left Port Mafia. He's still the one next in line to be Port Mafia's leader. 3) Chuuya is an executive along side Dazai. 4) They both are already adults. 5) If, in any oneshot, there is a change of scenario, I'll mention it beforehand. .
