An excerpt:
I watched through the netted window of the cage-like tent as the lack bound towards up like jets of black shooting through from between the trees. As they came closer with increasing velocity, their emerald eyes sparkled in the sunlight brightening the gleam of notorious ferocity in them. I felt the fear build in me. Fear rose slowly gripping my heart as the beast, leading the pack, fixed his gaze on me.
The pack came to a halt, ten feet from the tent, causing dust to rise in the air around them. Despite the fear in me as watchful eyes rested on me, my sister, Josie, radiated excitement.
My father, who stood outside the protection of the tent, wore a solemn look as the pack gave respectful bows. Helda, the caretaker, set to work arranging food for the pack.
